I did a dumb thing (not my first and surely not my last)by pulling the top off my transmission and now can't figure out how to reinstall it so it will shift.I can get it back on with the forks in the correct location but it will not shift. In fact the shafts that hold the forks will not slide back and forth with the exception of the reverse shaft. They will not slide with the unit on my work bench so its not surprizing that it will not shift when installed on the transmission. By the way everything was OK before I took it apart so I feel certain the unit is OK .I'm just doing something wrong.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like two rails are shifted at the same time every thing is in neutral and lined up
