I would like to know, Is WD Generator run on 12v? My Gen is not working, How I can I know what is wrong?

Your generator is probably 6v. Some of the simpler 12v conversions were to just replace the coil and add a 12 v battery. The starter could handle the 12v. The battery would need an external charge because the charging system would remain 6v. This left the generator just sitting there. The generator has a cutout relay mounted on it. The field was normally wired to a hi-lo output switch. I think 3 ohms was 3 amps and short was 10 amps. You can check your generator fairly well with a multimeter. If your running 12v, it's fairly simple to stick an alternator in.

The original WD was ran on 6 volts. You can take it to a repair shop and have them check it out.
