I RECENTLY TORE INTO MY TS5 (HD5) 271 DIESEL THE OTHER DAY IN ORDER TO REPLACE THE REAR MAIN SEAL AND REBUILD THE BLOWER....WELL I FOUND THAT THE BEARINGS WERE TURNING ON THE CRANK AND RATHER THAN REDO THEW CRANK i WOULD LIKE TO GET A USED ONE IN GOOD REPAIR OR AN ENTIRE SHORTBLOCK INCLUDING THE BLOWER.

You didn't say weather it was mains or rod bearings turning but I suspect that the mains are turning. If so the block will have to be repaired and line bored and new mains installed. 2-71 blocks are getting to be a rarety and to find a good one is slim to none. You can go to a 3-71 and they are more availible. Cranks can be reground and that may be the best way to go.
