My carburator leaks...

I recently put a rebuilt carb on my Allis 'C'. It now started leaking gas out of the choke linkage, and when I removed the clamps on the hose going to the air cleaner gas drained out of there also. This happens while the tractor is off. Do I have a bad carb or is this the reason you are supposed to turn the gas off at the tank and run the tractor until it runs out of gas.

Thats a yes but no. Did you replace the sediment bowl and the tube between the carb and bowl? If its leaking then there likely is something caught in the float needle valve causing it to leak. My CA had the same trouble and after cleaning the carb several times, I realized the fuel line was flaking off inside. The place you got the carb might warranty it, but don't count on it. These carbs are very simple and all one needs to work on them are basic hand tools. If you need more help, email me and I can walk you through it. Brian. [email protected]

Yes, I put a new sediment bowl on, as well as a rubber hose from the bowl to the carburator. I will take the carburator off and take a look at it, as well as reading up on it so I know all of the buzz words. Then I will E-mail you.
