My father is having trouble getting the fanbelts replaced on his Allis Chalmer hd5 bulldozer, 1948. The neighbor helped him several yeras ago and there's a slick trick to doing it. We have been trying to push the belts off toward the back of the crank shaft where ther is a groove in which you can not see but wer are trying to push them back with a screw driver so they can slip off. Is this the correct way or the easiest without taking any other parts off if not needed to? My dad is 75 and sometimes he might forget a thing or two but they have to go on the way they came off also. Is he remembering right? He wants to replace the belts while he repairs the radiator to finish his bulldozing job down the road for x/mas money. Any help would be appreciated.

Wonder if you might have an "Eaton" oil pump off 2-71 engine. Or, maybe you know of a source for pump seals??? Thanks. [email protected]
