have original owners manual..wording would seem to indicate using 20w engine oil in common sump for hydraulics..etc...have seen notes in archives..some say hydraulic oil ..some say engine oil....not sure what to use..

Steve,
Either one will work. They are basically the same oil. The key is that whatever you use it MUST be non foaming.

I've been using 20 weight, non-detergent in my C. It has the same hydraulic pump as the CA.

If you use 20w motor oil be sure that it is non detergent. I use a hydralic oil or a hytran type oil.

thanks..have non detergent motor oil in there now but thinking of putting in hydraulic type oil..the container i have says to be used in applications where the trans,diff,and hydraulics share a common supply..didn,t know if using the hydraulic oil would possibly result in more noise from trans and drives.
