D-19 hi/Lo issues

Hey all, I'm working on a D-19(still) which had been sitting for a couple of years, then we started it and the clutch wouldn't release so we changed the clutch and all the fluids while we were at it, and even converted it to factory 3pt. Everything works great now except for the hi/lo range, lo works the tractor extremely hard and then it pops straight into hi where neutral should be, and if you try to push it into high nothing changes and the lever won't stay there, so there is no neutral at all... Any ideas? We'ld hate to think we have to split the tractor again. Thankyou.

I don't know what the problem is off hand, but the hi/lo is not hydraulic like the 190

Is the Hi/LO on a D-19 hydrualic like a 190? If so you may have a valve or crossed line issue. Dad's 190 had a HI/LO issue for years but we didnot realize the other issue it was causing. He had the Hi/LO fixed by a guy who was a big Allis user and puller. He had one BAD 190 at the pulls. The repairs lasted about 2 month. He did not want to split the tracator again. We lived with the problem. Tracxtor also started overheating BAD. Finally it got to where it would not pull itself. We split the tractor. The problem was the center sealing ring, looks like a piston ring, on the 2 speed clutch was worn out. We had used the tractor for years with it trying to run in hi and lo at the same time. Replace the clutch assy. and the housing the sealing ring went into and it works ok now.
