I have justed purchased D17 series IV and found that it wont hold any implements up on 3 point hitch. loader works fine on front any help would be appreciated.

Brian - I have a Series IV and can probably help you either posting on here or e-mail me off line. First - will the 3 point raise and lift the implements then leak down or not raise them at all? Second thing I'd want to know is exactly how the loader is connected into the hydraulics system - in the back via the remotes (1 or 2 sets) or spliced in to the system somewhere else? Pictures would be good too if you have them. Mike

Skyhighballoon the 3 point will raise the implement with no problem but fast as you raise it is almost as fast as it bleeds off.The loader is hooked in by the remotes two sets in the back appreciate any info.

Brian, look at the back of the tractor at the hydraulic spool valve assembly. On the back of the spool valve for the lift arms you should see a little screw in plug that has a roll pin in making a little T handle. Make sure that plug is screwed all the way in or the lift arms will not hold.

If that is not it, I suspect that you have a bad o-ring or something else wrong possibly inside the lift arm valve spool. You can get a rebuild kit from AGCO. You'll have to disconnect the linkage from the front and then remove the spool valve from the rear. You remove it by removing the two allen head screws holding the cover in the back, then using a HUGH regular tip screwdriver to un-screw it. There are detent balls, little springs, etc, inside that you have to be careful that you don't lose tiny parts when pulling it out. I suggest getting a parts/or service manual to help you if you do this. Let me know if the easy suggestion works. Mike
