the round dust cover that goes on inside final drive assembly is leaking oil. can i take this round cover off and replace with a new seal? i did order a service manual--i hope i get it soon!
its onle leaking from the left side cover, right side is dry with no leaks as i can see. thanks,Jim

im all over the place. Im working on a farmall cub, case dc, allis & a ford 9n. The case im waiting for the machine shop to get the head back to me & i did the brakes. all the sheet metal is blasted, and sanded. i think i found a 6 v gen. and still looking for rear rims and centers. thnks, Jim

Oops, sorry. Misread your problem. Steve is right on the plug. There is no pressure on the pans. RTV works well.

My AGCO dealer was able to get the gaskets for me. An old time AC mechanic said that the thickness was critical. Don't know since I was able to find NOS from the dealer. DO take the opportunity to knock out any dents while you have it off. The clearance is close to the gears and dents are common. A little too close and you will wear a hole through from the inside.

pryit out with a screw driver. put a bead of RTV around the edge and pound it back in. works like a freeze plug. no seal.
