Hello:

There will be a nice allis D-17 coming up for sale near me at an auction. It may be newer than the series I tractors. How much power are they? What size rear tires generally came on them? What did they weigh? Did any have 3 point? How about power steering? How hard is it to convert one from wide front to tricycle? What is their average value?

P.S. Has anyone ever done any pulling with one?

Thanks

About 54 PTO horsepower 226 cu in-about same size engine as a gas 3020, but much more peppy. Most had 16.9-28"s on 15 inch rims. Weighed about 5280 dry. Early series I"s maybe no PS; later ones usually had PS. Without PS they steered hard because about 4 or 5 turns of the wheel & you turned from far one way to the other. Series IV had a heavy, good 3-pt. Allis sold a good snap-coupler 3-pt for earlier (series I, II, and III) 17"s. Other not-so-good 3-pt add-ons were available. Neighbor used to switch his 17 from wide front to pony spring & fall (mounted corn picker).

Do these tractors have internal balancers being 4 cylinder?
