How many of you have luck like this? Bought a real nice 7060 PS this past Feb. The dealership delivered it and I drove it straight into the shed. Went to get it out this spring and it wouldn't backup very well. Came up with the conclusion that a valve was sticking(856 puller right again). Fixed that, but still no pressure. Found that the power shift was basically shot. I hadn't put 10 minutes on it let alone a hour. At least the dealership is going to stand behind it some, since they had it tore down and parts ordered without notifing me. Of course this isn't the first time I've had this happen with a new to me machine. I blew the engine in combine on its first trip to the field and replaced tranny parts in an Oliver before I ever got to the field with it too. I'm sure others out there have had similar luck. The term "runs good", doesn't always mean "works good".

New stuff can have problems as well. My son is an engine service rep for Cummins engines. He mainly does work on heavy equipment, large engines on generators and natural gas compressors. On the weekend he got called out to a farm. Apparently a farmer had bought a new $267,000 FWD tractor in the fall and when he started seeding with it this spring it had no power. The dealer did not have the instrumentation to analyse the computer controlled engine so they called Cummins. My son determined that it was a fuel delivery problem from the fuel tank. He stuck a magnet in the tank and it came out with a bunch of slag on it. They scoped the tank and found that there was a whole bunch of slag in it. The tank must have been fabricated and then installed before it had been cleaned. Unfortunately some extremely fine particles must have got by the filters and damaged some of the sensitive sensors and my son is still not able to get the engine to run to meet specs. The dealer is going to bring out another tractor for the farmer to use until they can fix his new tractor but it takes almost a day to switch over the electronic controls for his 60' wide seeder and the GPS system to guide the tractor. The farmer has over 5000 acres to seed and the sun is shinning. The dealer is going to end up with a big bill as my sons overtime rate is not cheap.
