I baught a allis chalmers tractor from a local famer in upstate N.Y..He told me it was a 1960 WD.When trying to find some parts online i couldn't find any part that connects with the serial #s i took off the tractor.Can someone PLEASE help me in I.D.ing this tractor? Here are the serial #s i found. 1-on the left side of the rear end cover WD74589. 2-on the left side of the shifter 200981. 3-on the left differential brake houseing am3634-7 ac.
Thats all i have for now,any help or suggestion will be deeply appreited! THANK YOU SAMMY.

If you found 74589 by the brake cover, you found the tractor serial number, and the year would be what old says. The other numbers would be casting numbers. Serial numbers are always stamped, not cast into parts. WD tractors were made from 1948-1953. WD45 from 1953-1957. None made in 1960. The engine has it"s own serial number, found on the left side, rear of the carburetor. Typically all numbers followed by GA or PA, depending on whether it is set up for gas or gas/distillate. Different manifolds. WD45 engine serial numbers started with 45-xxx..., which would indicate a newer replacement engine. Both fit, many have been changed over the years. Your WD 201 cubic inch engine could have been updated to the "45" as well, internally.

That be a 1951 WD. Normally I would not have done this for you but told you how. So heres how so you can check it out for your self. Please take the time to do so that way you learn. Go the the left of this page, under research and info go to serial numbers, then Allis, then WD and then see where your numbers fit into the list of numbers there.
