I need to replace my water pump as it leaks out thru seal and down the fan blade. Does anyone have any tips to give me to save some headaches. I plan to remove the raditor. Also what do you recomend to seal up the gasket? Just use the bare gasket or also use a sealant?????

I always use a little RTV sealant on all gaskets. It helps a whole lot more than it hurts.

Shop manual says to remove radiator. Nothing about sealant on the new gasket, but I certainly would use it to keep antifreeze from seeping through. "Tighten pump mounting capscrews 18 to 21 ft. lbs. torque."
