We are trying to determine the engine block casting number for the D17 262 CI diesel & also the casting number for the D19 262 CI gas engine. Can the D17 diesel block be converted to a gas engine? A fair amount of discussion has occured at our club & we are trying to get the facts.

Thank you for any assistance.

Dad has the G-262 power unit parts book for our C-II combinds and I think the block padt numer is the same gas and Diesel. There are passages that are plugged on one version that are open on the other. I also think the G-230 ALLIS power unit uses the same block.
