my allis B tractor i just bought from a sale is all yellow in color said to be owned by a county, and used for county mowing. it has numbers in front of gear shift lever it reads: B-33151 will this tell me the year tractor is? also numbers on left axel tube read cc-1-1-0 and am 2737-2 it would be nice to know more about this tractor. the person i bought tractor from did not know anything about it. the tractor runs very good , and has 5ft mower deck. everything works good. there is a large round cut hole in hood for vertical exhaust. do you think i can find a good old hood ? any help is appreciated, thanks, JIM

thanks everyone, i will get some pictures. the 39 i have must have had engine changed out at some point. its a 6 volt with gen, has dist on side and coil, has elect start, and lots of snap to the engine- i mowed for two hours the other day, about 6" GRASS and walked right thru it. this engine i will look for the numbers and let you know. it also has spin on oil filter. thanks, Jim

the B started in 1938 and ran thru 1958. There were about 125,000 made. Yours is a late 1939 model. The early ones had a BE 116 inch motor. About 1941 the upped the motor to 125 inch and called it a CE motor. number is on left side bell housing area. Your B would be mag start, no starter or generator originally, hand brakes, not foot. They were all 3 speed trans. Some had hydraulics or pto. Early did not have the hyd pump. Same motor, radiator, trans,differential as the model c. C was narrow front (normally), and wider rear axles. Most else was the same.

Not sure about the cc-1-1-0, but the am is an Allis prefix look around and you'll see am on lots of castings, engine, head, etc.

Looks like a good number according to the book says it's a 1939 B. One question is the number when sitting on the seat upside down? I don't know the B very well.

when sitting looking forward the numbers in front of shift lever are so you can read them, not upside down.
