I have a fuel line blockage as when it runs it sometimes cuts out. I put a light i the tank and it appears that something is floating down in the outlet tube. SO, to remove the blockage do I:
1. Unscrew the sediment bouwl and flush it out.
2. Take off the tin work, then the tank and invert it, washing out the tank?
3. Something ....else?

Let me know your views, am getting ready for the spring cutting season! Thanks

I'm a firm believer in "the cleaner the tank the better".
Any water or debries in that tank will come to haunt you sooner or later. Better to clean the whole system now than to fight it all summer long. It will bite you when it is the most inconvenient time.
I use a telescopic magnet and then swab the tank bottom with sections of old tee shirt and a long screw driver. I use a flexible claw pickup tool to fish out the tee shirt pieces. Will get a tank very clean.

When I used to do service calls I carried a 3/8" pipe plug with me- unscrewed the sediment bowl assy.-the flush of gas usually brought the garbage out with it-put my free hand over hole-put the plug in the hole with the other hand-thoroughly dismantled and cleaned the sediment bowl assy.-and reversed the process. Then I'ld check the flow right to the carb.-should be a good strong flow- then any more troubles will be in the carb.(really fun in cold weather)

If it where me I would first remove the sediment bowl assembly and look it over good/clean it and then go from there. It might be as simple as that or you also might have something floating around in the tank but you should be able to see that after you remove the sediment bowl assembly
