My father-in-law just bought this tractor as a restoration project. The tractor is in pretty good shape and runs well. I'm looking for any advice as to where to start with this project; The best manual? Where to get parts? Tractor history? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Where to start? Very hard for us to say. Restored when properly applied means made as new but the word is applied to everything from brush painted tractors that barely run to chrome plated trailer queens. My advise is to sit down and decide how much money you have to spend and you want to end up with. If you want to spend no more than can be recovered in sale price then spend no money on it what so ever, a WC is a very common tractor that is at the bottom of tractor kingdom values and little to none of your restoration dollars will ever be recovered in a sale. Just a sad but true fact. To you questions, There is no source of specific tractor history on Allis stuff as the JD guys have. A history of Allis Chalmers is available from Norm Swinford, I think it is still in print. Best manuals come from an AGCO dealer. An owners manual is a must, service and parts are very nice ot have. There is no best source for all parts. We can however suggest best places to find specific parts and paint when you know which parts you need.
