I finally got around to getting a new key switch for my tractor. It sat all winter in the garage mainly because I have no use for it in the winter. But now, it is ready to go out and do some work in the yard and garden.

Hey cadet, yeah, they had the switch in stock for $98 bucks. I thought about looking at Massey or Kubota switches which I see priced online for $30 but got agravated fooling with it. My biggest problem is I bought the tractor 600 miles from where I now live and the closest dealer to me is about 100 miles. So I just called my old dealer and they sent it to me in 2 days. I just can not get over the price of parts for this tractor. I bought it brand new in 1982 with a 60" groom mower for $5200. I still need a new seat and one headlight. But, if I have to pay that much for a light I will leave it like it is, it does work. Good luck with yours...

Yaa, I need a seat too but I'm gonna see if I can find someone to recushion mine or see if I can find something in Northern Tool. I'd like to find a remote hydraulic kit for mine to put my 54" cadet dozer blade on mine instead of changing my cub 2284 over every winter to push snow beside my cub's too light even with weights it doesn't come close to 5020 at close to 2000# with ag tires. I'm thinkin with a blade on the front and a rear mounted blower lookout and switching to a tiller in the spring it could become a snow movin dirt diggin fool. :-> CT

I tell ya I can't believe the price of Agco parts for the 5020 if available I just ordered a set of headlights which is available for $85 a piece they kind of get you to feel better when the bulbs are about 20 bucks ea. which is included but man I'm about a couple hundred bucks over budget and about done. I just have never understood the corporate mentality I priced a set of 9-24 rear rims for my ag tires "$1125.00 ea." which was available and I hope they have to pay to have China take them I bought a set of RC rims for $90ea. which took a slight mod to make them work I would have paid a couple hundred for OEM rims but hey they can eat em. Probably some shirt and tie jerk that never saw a tractor and doesn't care. Anyway did they have a key switch available?

I put a set of Allis C cast center on mine and then used the four loop rims. The center spacers you see in the picture were for the inside for turf tires to make room for tire chains. I used them only because I did not have shorter bolts in the shop.

Yep those are the rims I have on mine now amazingly the hole pattern lined up on my ag wheel centers after a little grinding on the rim steps and knocked off about an 1/8th of an inch off the wheel center corners using 5/8" bolts. I'm about ready to shoot some pictures as soon as I get all the lights working I'll do some before and after pictures I'm coming up on the one year anniversary of when I brought it home. That is an amazing tractor absolutely everything works on it and not one leak and it starts on one rotation.

I have used a screwdriver to start mine for so long I forgot the it could be started with a key at one time.
