Bad Plugs

My D14 uses spark plugs all the time.I have went over the Card No help Some say it is the type of plugs some said it the points . It is converted to 12v but I didnt have a resistor.Or is it the govener. Or is typical

When running a 12V conversion with a 4 cylinder engine, you need to have 2.7-3.3 ohms of resistance in the ignition circuit. If you're using a standard 12V coil, most 12V coils are only 1.5 ohms. That's fine for a V8, but not a 4 banger. Pick yourself up a 3.0 ohm coil at the auto parts store (if you're not running one) and watch the difference in the running and performance of the engine. You'll also keep one set of plugs in the engine to. Install a good set of plugs and wires and she'll rock n' roll! We have the correct coils in stock if ya can't find one locally. HTH

If going to hotter plugs does not solve the problem, you can buy "spark plug extenders" at your local auto supply store. They screw into the head, have a small hole in one end, and get the plug about 3/4 inch further away from the combustion chamber. My WD has one cylinder that "pumps" oil..... ..been using an extender for years..... ..a cheap fix for me..... ....RP

If the plugs are to cool for the type of things you do it will cause that. Or if it uses a little oil and you run a cool plug it will cause that. Not sure which plugs are called for in your tractor but the next time you buy some ask for a couple grades hotter plug and maybe you problem will go away
