Has anyone tried to buy new tires lately???? I need some 16.9x38 eight ply rears, and can"t find a good place to buy them. I tried ebay express and they have a good price, but they don"t have a good rep. for delivery and customer service. I tried Nebraska tire, and everyone that I can think off. With the cost of fuel now the shipping kills you. Anyone got some good ideas???

Phil I think you are thinking about 18.4x38's when you are quoting that old price. They have always been less than 16.9x38's, simply because they build hundreds of 18.4x38's compared to a few 16.9x38's. In the past 21 years I cannot remember 16.9x38 being that low, at least not quality built American made 1's. I checked with my old store today , Titans are 517.39 each ,8 ply, put on the tractor. That is here in central Ia. The only thing cheeper was some overseas made stuff at 507.39 each.

Shipping can be substantially reduced if you ship to a business address.

Yes, and I did give the shipping as a business. But to ship (1) 200# tire was $125.00 and (2) tires was $255.00. The cost of each tire was $520.00 plus tax. It seems like just last year this same tire was about $350.00 to $400.00 ea. Maybe there aren't any good prices now days, with price of oil at $117.00 a barrel. I think it's called a recession, and it's the way things are going to be, at least for a while.
