Was it hot when you were doing the work? If so you may have had a vapor lock in the fule line. I have had this happen on one of my B's. If so there is a fix to the problem. It is caused bu the fule line getting hot up next to the block. Try running the line around the air cleaner to the carb and see if that dosn't help.

have you checked the oil lately ? awe it doesnt matter just go to the parts house and by a quart of oil and four spark plugs . install new plugs as for the quart of oil it was just so youll have both hands full when you leave the parts house . it also helps the economy

Start with the basics

Spark
Fuel- I need a good inches or 2 of gas in the tank for my B for it to run.

1. release the hand brakes
2. check the timing
3. check the valve clearance
4. don't ask me how I know.

Are you saying it doesn't have much compression? You might try setting the valve lash. Pretty easy to do. If the valves were set too close, they may not be closing all the way.

I would start by checking spark. If you can crank it over it would not be locked up.
