I have a 6 foot Allis bush hog. The clutch appears to be a spring loaded metal to metal set up. I'd like to know if it can be adjusted as I kinda over did it the other day and now the clutch seems to be slipping. I have no ID #I can find. It's a wheeled type and built quite heavy.

Thanks Dave. The humps are still there, but I'm not sure how big they were to start with.

So I tighten those big nuts up on the spring and that should help?

As long as you haven't ground up the meeting surfaces too bad. If you have flattened out the humps, you can re grind them back into better shape, but that requires a complete dis-assembly.

A-C rattle clutch can be tightened, biggest mistake most people make is to over grease them. This clutch is also used on A-C pull type combines, if that gives you any ideas!

I have one of these AC 6-ft pull type. I wish I could buy a new one just like it. Maybe two. About 20 years ago the slip clutch got over used and I did something to keep it from slipping-jerry rig likely a mistake cause now you have to be ready to shut off throttle or kick it out of PTO. It'll stall the tractor which means it must have a healthy gear box.
