Curious if a D14 with a good 3pt hitch would handle a 7' Bush Hog mower (1030 lbs)? I would be mowing rolling pasture and old food plots in the spring (corn beans sorghum).

I realize I would be close to max on hp, but the weight concerns me more.

I also have a D17 and would like to purchase the 7' mower if it can be used on either tractor.

Thanks a bunch! jh

One more point. Even with 6', i do use 3rd low range a bit. With 7', you'll be able to pull it but may be in low gear. I think the hydraulics will handle it but I haven't the experience.

I use a 6' with my D-14 and it works just fine. I think 7' would be a bit much for my tractor. Moving from 5' to 6' is a much bigger jump than one would expect. I would expect the jump to 7' would surprise as well.
