I am interested in any information on Allis Chalmers HD7G Crawler Loader. I am trying to keep running a 1963 HD7G in Finland (Europe) and I need various parts but don`t know where to start looking for. If you can suggest some dealers etc. in the States or Europe too, please e-mail me at: [email protected] Thanks!

Hi!

My cousin bought one a while ago, to use on his motocross-track. He bought it with a broken head gasket, wich he has replaced. There were also a rust-hole in the turbo turbine-house wich now is welded.

However, after the head gasket was replaced he started it, and it ran for about 10 seconds, but it wouldnt idle, just ran when you let it rev a bit.

However, after 10 seconds it stopped. It started with no problems again, but yet again, it stopped after 10 seconds. Then again, and again... (Just like it wouldnt get any diesel, like the filter was clogged) The last time it stopped, there was a cracking noise right before it stopped (Id say about the last turn it moved before it came to a stop).

After this, the engine is jammed. At least the starter won't crank it (Sounds just like theres not enough power in the batteries, the starter just clicks, but there is).

We removed the valve-cover to see if something had happend with the camshaft, so that the pistons had mashed some valves, but it all looked good, and you can, by hand, push every valve down a bit, so they dont seem crooked.

Do you have any idea why the engine is jammed? Is there something that you have experienced? Could there be a fault in the transmission wich has jammed the engine?

The engine is a 6 cyl turbocharged (I heard there is a 4cyl version too?).

Also any specifications and such, you may have of it would be interesting :-)

This is what the beast looks like:

Thanks in Advance!

P.S Sorry for my bad english, i live in sweden so english isn't my native language D.S

Best regards
Daniel
