Would a D17 struggle with a 6 row JD 7000 no till planter?

I was hooked to a 10" Great Plains no till drill years ago and don"t think I would want much more.

Used to pull a no-til 4 row wide 7000 with a D17 easily but no big hills. When it was full of fertilizer the hydraulics didn't lift real well. A series IV would be better. My D19 handled it with no problems. I'd go with at least the size of the D19.

I started farming in "72, with a WD and a D17. Used the D17 on a JD 494 planter. Tried it with the WD once, rather than take the disc or digger off the D17. Did a lot of scratching on any slope. You want to pull a no-till planter, half again as wide, ie, 50% more load, before figuring the no-till resistance. On level ground, with duals, might work, but I"d rather have some more ponies in front. You could always add weight for traction, stay in second gear- (planting slower gives more accurate seed count)- but you have a good reason to buy bigger, like a 190!
