I have a 53 Allis model B. I'm getting ready to pull the head and have a valve job done. I would like to have the head milled to add a little power. Question I have is how does a person know if the head had ever had the head milled down once already. I sure do not want to have it done a second time and cause any engine damage. Thanks for the advise in advance. Nick.

You wont have engine damage from milling to much off the head. You could make the head to thin over the water passages. About the only way to tell is to look at the thickness thru the water holes in the head. You can take as much as a total of .200 off without making the head unusable. More if you are brave.
The picture of the head cut in thru width ways shows the thickness you have to work with.
