D17 Power Director

I Have a series II D17. The Power Director is locked in the forward position. The tractor works fine just cannot shift PD to neutral or low. Any Idea what is going on and how to correct this. Thanks in advance, JC

I know this may sound dumb but is the button on the handle able to push down all the way? I had the same problem on my series 3 D-17 a little P B blaster and it worked fine. Greg

Thanks for the reply. Yes the button is free. The lever moves a little as does the cross shaft shifter fork and split clutch collar. I have the side cover off and can see this far. Still looking. Thanks, JC
