Marvel-Schebler TSX Main Fuel Nozzle Tool!

Anyone who works on Marvel-Schebler TSX series carbs and runs into the problem of the screwdriver slot being stripped out of the main nozzle will love this new tool. I am talking about the carbs that have the main load adjustment on the bottom front of the fuel bowl. I have been rebuilding carbs of every shape and kind for many years and when I rebuilt my first TSX-464 I found the owner had tried to remove the main nozzle himself and stripped out the screwdriver slot. I tried heating the nozzle and using penetrating oil but it was stuck tight. Normally at this point I would have to drill out the nozzle and buy a new one, but then I got the idea of how to build this tool. Since then I have not seen a nozzle that couldn't be taken out. My restoration buddies all wanted to buy one and they recommended I tell everyone here about them. The design of this tool is made so that it won't slip like a regular screwdriver and the tool kit comes with a tap to clean the threads before the nozzle is removed to help keep from damaging the threads on the nozzle when you take out. The really nice thing is with this tool you can put the jet back in once you carb is cleaned and ready for assembly. A new nozzle usually will cost a minimum of $20.00 and if you have to have a machine shop drill out the jet that can cost as much as $60.00 an hour and this tool can be used over and over on damaged nozzles or good nozzles you don't want to strip out when removing them.The kit includes the nozzle driver tool, a high quality tap, and very detailed instructions with pictures. Soaking the carb in full strength 'Castrol Super Clean' or Advance Auto Part's 'Purple Power' will quickly disolve all the varnish, if that's an issue.

I have never had that problem when using a proper screwdriver blade. Something I was taught maybe 50 years ago. Use the correct screwdriver blade. If you don't seem to have the correct fit grind one to fit or go buy one that will for a coupla bucks.

I have been a machinist for 20 years and do understand using the proper tools but usually I end up working stuff for people who don't what tool they need or how to use them.

I have 3 screwdrivers ground to fit different jets on Marvel and Zeniths. I also bought a very large screwdriver for the main needle seat.
It always makes the job better with tools that fit.

I totally agree with using the right tools but what does everyone out there who disassembles a carb that has been full of water and the threads are severely rusted and the screwdriver slot has been damaged so severely that a "correct" sized screw will not even catch.
