I have a 1982 model 5020. I think the key switch went bad. I am in the process of trying to remove it but can not get my hands in there. Do any of you have any ideas on how to get to the switch to replace it? The wires are tight and I can not move the switch enough to get to the wires to remove them from the switch. I tried to remoce the dash but I do not have a puller to remove the steering wheel. Any Suggestions???

My AC 5020 has a bad ignition switch. Pulling it out was not difficult, took the four bolts out from the side of the dash bord cover, pushed the dashboard cover up (about 2-3 inches), took the ring off the ignition switch and reached under to pull the ignition switch out.

robert - if i remember correctly, on my 5020 i disconnected the throttle control at the bottom below the dash. this allowed me to pull the dash panel up a couple of inches and i was able to get my hand in; it wasn"t easy, but it worked and kept me from having to pull anything else off. alan

Let me know how this turns out I may have to do this too, I'm rebuilding one and haven't got that far yet. CT
