I have a 1949 AC B. There is about 3/8-1/2 inch vertical travel in the front spindles. Cannot find thrust bearings in the parts book, only bushings. Does this tractor not use thrust bearings or washers? Maybe someone can help me improvise to take some of the slop out. Thanks.

You can buy thrust bearings at a bearing supply house. I plan on doing that to a couple of mine. (someday) You just ask for a 1 1/4" ID ball bearings.

local Agco dealer had machine bushings, hardened washers for a CA. They had to order them though. Local Farm supply stores likely have them too.

I had the same problem with my 49 B and used shim washers a friend gave me that are used to shim something on a transfer truck. I think they are 1 1/4" ID and come in various thickness. You might check with a truck repair shop.
