I've got a WD with a wide front end that's factory welded on top from end to end rather than smooth formed from one piece. Are they rare or just the way they did the early ones? I had a supposedly knowledgable AC guy say that was the first one he'd ever seen and he's been messing with Allis for 30 years. Is he just unlucky? I looked through some of the the archives but didn't find anything specific.
Thanks Irv*

I think mine are that way- welded on top and open on the bottom, formed from two identically bent sheets, about a quarter inch thick.
