Is there any diference between A D17 engine and a 175 other than higher compression and RPMs.

allis, as near as I can tell the 175 Crop Hustler gas made from 1971 thru 1976 came with as you say the 226 engine with as you say higher compression. It appears the diesel through those years was the Perkins 4cyl. Just quoting the book.

my 175 is a perkins 4cyl diesel i thought the d17 was a 6cyl buda
