I have been trying to fix our valve stems on our WD15 the rims around the stems are pretty rusted out. I thik the previous owner had put something in the tires for more weight. I don't know if this caused the problem but I think the only option at this point is to replace the rims.
Any other ideas?? or where i might be able to find used or new rims?

Typical damage from calcium chlorids when the owner put off repairing leaks. For a small patch, just cut some mild steel matching the rim thickness, form it and weld in place. Bigger repairs, a chunk from a donor rim does the job. Drill the stem hole in a new place if y9ou want.

If this is a d-15 with spin out rims replacements are pricy. Can they be repaired? If your not a welder a welding shop can weld in repairs if it isn't to far gone. Somtimes they look bad until you take them apart. DS

I have the same issue with my D14, I found a guy who is cutting up a rim for repairing his rims, and he has kindly agreed to cut me a section for my rim. I may try to weld the section in myself, but may consider having a local shop do the welding, since my welds tend to look like unhealthy worms.
