Have seriesIII D-17 with trip bucket loader running off single hyd outlet. Looking to convert loader to full hyd and wondering if hyd pump off hydrostat lawn tractor would be pump enough to run the loader. Have pumps off old AC mower and one off Case mower that are splined for pullys. Thinking of mounting them up front and running off/with powersteering belt. No markings on pumps that I can find but know both worked when removed from mowers. Any thoughts?

Could a person mount the pump off of the belt pulley? I have the pulley on a D14, and am wondering what I can use it for. I was thinking about an altenator to power the house in case of power outage, but would like extra hydraulics.

Thought about the same thing yesterday after posting about the front mount AC setup. Use the same crankshaft pulley that is already drilled- just machine a pulley to bolt directly to the existing crank pulley, and hang the pump below. Could still mount the reservoir in front of the radiator.

Good idea, several things to consider--Existing loader cylinders are high pressure, low volume. D17 pump is about 7 gpm, high pressure. Added bucket cylinders and boom cylinders need to match in pressure with a separate pump. Factory option was a front pump that bolted to the crankshaft pulley. Should still be able to piece something like that together. If you go to lower pressure cylinders you"ll want a higher gpm pump or the cylinders will move slowly.

Don't know much about hydraulics except you have to keep the tanks full and systems CLEAN. Appreciate the insight. I guess I'll find someone who needs the pumps I have and get them off my shelf.

Talking to friends today, learned of a machinist in the area who builds the kits for the front mount. They say you can't tell the difference from original AC kit.

Again, Thanks for open, non-sarcastic response. Only two goals here: 1. Learn a little something and 2. Keep another old tractor from the scrapman
