Hi guys Thinking about buying an Allis 8050 with fwa . This will be a little ways down the road{wife}{$$$$$$$$$}I have a 190xt now and like it. I will problably sell or trade it for 8050[again wife] Is the 8050 a good tractor and are parts available? Any opinions good or bad willbe appreciated. My other Thought is a John deere 4440. I like the idea of fwa but dont know which would be better move.Thanks in advance

The whole 80xx series was the best A-Cs made except the 426 engine was wore out by that time.(the casting molds were so out of tolerance that 3000 hrs.was about the life before a major overhaul.)Hunley tractor out of Austin In.makes kits to put 8.3 Cummins or(and)the 8.x Detroit in the 80xx which makes good tractor.I can't tell you anything about the FWA other then it takes 80A to turn it around.I got rid of mine in 2000 because of lack of parts aval.I would go with a 40-50-55 seris Deere because of that,but it is going to cost you 3x to 4x more to do it.If you are still interested,call Hunley and talk to him.

i agree solid drive train so so engine good cab. the cummins kit makes it but its hard to spend that kind of money on that old of a tractor the mfwd was ok they were hard on kingpins with big tires and would leak sometimes.
