Pulled sleeves on D-17 because 1 was leaking. Took pistons out of sleeves and then removed sleeves. Can I use the old rings in the sleeves without this tractor becoming an oil burner?

Well if all your doing is replaceing the sleeve seals/o-rings as long as you make sure each piston came out of and then back into the same hole you should be ok unless of course it was burning oil when you did that. I have done it a few times with a C and used old rings but replaced a bad sleeve and the engines ran well. I do hone the cylinder so the ring have to re set to the cylinders. Also good idea to check ring end gap to make sure there still in spec.
