Watch an H&S bi-fold 12 wheel in action at http://www.hsmfgco.com/Movies/Bi-FoldRake/movie.html.
I've owned an H&S Hi-Capacity bi-fold 14 wheel for 10 yrs. It's been a good one. I wouldn't want to go back to the oil heating Vermeer R23. I rake three 9' cuts during the drought years and only two 9' cuts in better years just by moving the hyd remote control lever in the cab(no rake wheel removal required). In '07 on a few fields I could only rake one 9' cut because of the abundance of rain & grass that year. I like the Hi-cap rakes over the plain Bi-fold because the rake wheels(teeth) on the h-cap are closesr to the un-raked hay(no frame in the way to hinder hay flow). Yes when I rake 3 the center windrow is left undisturbed but that doesn't affect grass hay drying(no Alfalfa do here in the near N TX semi-desert). H&S offers a center rake wheels attachment to move middle windrow when raking 3 at a time.
