I'm pretty sure they are all the same from 1996 to 2002. Only difference is they came standard with an open-diff, and optional with a locking-diff. Automatic, standard, 2WD and 4WD all came with 4.77 to 1 ratio.
I've already fixed two rust-hole leakers in mine. One in the engine oil-pan and one in the diff. Just roughed it up, got it into a warm shop, and sealed with JB Weld. Then coated it with Zero Rust. I did the oil pan three years ago, it gets driven on salt all winter, and never again leaked a drop.
Fenders are half gone and I've replaced all the brake lines, but still runs and drives perfect.
