Thats what they said it was,it was most likely not that piece of junk rifle since very few have ever been able to get off 3 rounds with it in 6 seconds and hit the moving target.
Most people think it was somebody on the grassy knoll with a better gun,and maybe another gun or 2 at other locations.Also if the gun was fired from the book depository it was not from the 5th floor some say,it was from the second floor.
As time has gone on,and more people have spoken up about it,Oswald was most likely a patsy and they have a good idea of who the assassins were.A couple of guys from the CIA some say.
Sound evidence has shown there were as many as 5 shots from 3 different guns.
Whatever happened,some people in the government have done a real good job of covering it up.A lot of people have died over the years real mysteriously,including Ruby,and there is a chance we might not get the truth about it yet.
It seems to make the most sense that the CIA did it,especially since that movie they had out about it kind of led to that direction.
