I have been building fences for about 50 years, and I can tell you that the way you described the stretch posts assemblies, they will pull over/up if you stretch the wire tight. The only stretch posts that will hold around here are an H of welded 2 7/8 sch 40 pipe set 4 to 8 feet wide, set in concrete, with what is called a kicker which slants down at 45 degree angle to a third post 8 feet away down the fence line, welded in at about 8 inches off the ground at the "kicker post" coming up to the same height at the H brace.
