We need to mention smokeless tobacco too. An acquaitance of mine lost the whole side of his face and the larinyx to cancer. It was real nasty.
During my years on the wheat harvest I worked with a bunch of very good young men but most of them used tobacco, probably because it signified manhood, or maybe because they wanted to be one of the crowd. I felt like telling them, a 'real' man has full control of his personal life, his daily schedule is not controlled by this little cigarette or round container. He doesn't need to separate himself from others so he won't offend them or affect their health, and he doesn't leave pop cans full of brown spit sitting around! Jim
