Anybody had any experience with the digital LCD readout on the new odometer losing a number? 2005 Ford Escape. The last number on the right end of the display has mostly disappeared and it is the same if you change it to the trip meter function that you reset every time you want to measure the mileage. It used to be that you took the speedometer/odometer out and sent it to a repair service and they repaired the unit. I suppose that you now replace it and just trash the old one? Never heard of fepair to an LCD unit. Does this unit get it's numbers for display from the ECU, or does it have some memory function of it's own? Wife is all bent out of shape over this because she records mileage at all fillups. it is very annoying also.
