I used to work at Chemlawn (over 20 year ago!) but we used 2-4D at the time. Weeds go thru a growing cycle like averything else. If they are mature weeds try and mow them down and then water a day later and then hit the weeds with another aplication after the water is dried. Usualy a day. This will yield very good results as long as the chemical is still good. If the ground is moist, you can skip the additional water and reapply a day or so later. You want the weed to be actively growing when you hit it. If it has flowers or seed heads its a good sign it has slowed down and will need mowing. BTW, the earlier statements regarding grassy weeds are correct. If you do not use preemergent then MSMA is about your onlychoice to kill them out when it warms up. If you do not want crabgrass in your bermuda this year, apply pendamethilin (pre-M) now. Home depot has it for those of you that are interested it is made by Lesco and looks like sulphur when it is applied. It works well. good luck
