Just found out I'm being audited for 2007. Never had that happen before. Been driving for 15 years. My Dad is a CPA and handles my taxes. Never tried to hide anything or cut any corners.

I grossed $78,000. I drove 185,000 miles. Spent just over $20,000 on fuel, just under $6,000 on truck payment. Insurance, maintenance, on and one. I netted about $35,000. This was the year I tried to start my own buisness, when fuel went to over $4.00/gal. More in California where I went a lot. Failed, and in 2008 went back to working for my old company.

The Secretary of the Treasury didn't pay his taxes, claimed the Tax Code is too complicated for him to figure out. I've heard there are 100 people in the administration that haven't even filed. Charles Rangle, congressman from NYC refiled to show $700,000 he "forgot" to include in his first filing. Executives on Wall Street getting big bonuses from taxpayers wallets.

And they come after me, a guy that worked 80-90 hours a week to make a meesly 35 grand. I know they're going to find some BS crappin reason to say I owe them more. Certainly they can't have me come in for an official audit and not get anything for their time, now can they?

Looks like I should've kept quiet on my political views. Tlak must've sent my name in to his friends in DC.

Makes me want to chuck it all and just go be a bum. I would, except for that's what they want me to do.

I heard the IRS has hired 2000 new auditors. Be careful, you may be next.

WHO IS JOHN GALT??

Today's Featured Article - Harvestin Hay: The Early Years (Part 2) - by Pat Browning. The summer of 1950 was the start of a new era in farming for our family. I was thirteen, and Kathy (my oldest sister) was seven. At this age, I believed tractor farming was the only way, hot stuff -- and given a chance I probably would have used the tractor, Dad's first, a 1936 Model "A" John Deere, to go bring in the cows! And I think Dad was ready for some automation too. And so it was that we acquired a good, used J. I. Case, wire tie hay baler. In addition to a person to drive th ... [Read Article]
