The answer is yes, the coil portion on the electric clutch are interchangeable. Just got a new one today its an exact match. This one is from a John Deere 318, and its going on the Ransomes. D17, got it for half the price of the Ransomes dealer. be sure to check the measurements before buying as they don"t take electrical parts back..
