Sounds like it's loosing battery voltage to the shift solenoids. For second gear, all of the solenoids are off. What DTC's are in the ABS module? I think you may have more than 1 problem. The speedo (IPC)is electronic and if I remember correctly it gets it's signal via serial data from the ABS module. There are several grounds attached to the cab mount right under the driver's feet. One of which is the ground point for the ABS module. They are a common source of trouble for the ABS. If the ABS is going down, that could explain the loss of the speedo and I would expect to see IPC lost communication with ABS module stored in the IPC. Take the ground wires loose and buff them and the spot on the frame shiny clean. Put some die electric grease on the connection between the terminals and the frame, then paint over them with rubberized underbody coating.
