I have had both DirecTv and DishNetwork. Not much difference from one to the other. As far as signal, the only time we lose it is when we have really hard rain, so for 5-15 minutes at most, a few times a year. Pricing depends on whatever special they are advertising for the area at the time. Customer service has been hit and miss. When I first had DirectTV about 10 years ago, I bought the system from Wal-Mart, set it up myself, made the phone call to activate it that same night, never had an issue right up through when I cancelled it and moved to a place with cable. Next time around, Dish had a multi-room and install special, had to call once or twice to straighten out billing, no big deal. Moved again, had Dish installed with 2-room DVR. Contract expired, got "great low price" on DirecTv. Currently I am eyeballs deep in a billing dispute, have called every month since we got it about 6 mo. ago. Evening call center folks can't do much, waiting for a response to a letter. Will go back to Dish as soon as I can get out of this contract.
