Back when we were dairying, some hot shot came around, wanted to buy holstein bull calves to raise. Dad figured the guy didn't know anything about raising calves, so said, "Why don't I just give you the next few Jersey bull calves we get, til you get some experience?" The deal was struck, and the guy came back about a month later, mad as a hatter, because the calves had all died. Must have been something wrong with the calves. "Nonsense", said Dad, "my 13 year old daughter and 10 year old son haven't lost a calf in a year. Aren't you glad you didn't pay 10 bucks apiece for Holsteins?" Guy left in a huff and we never saw him again.
