What you are looking at is the vent, and also the fill hole. There is a plug by the right side(passanger side) cv shaft on the trans case. The trans should be at operating temp, in park running, and sitting level. You pull the plug, fill through the vent hole until ATF starts running out the plug hole.. Let ATF run out until it changes from a steady flow to a dribble, put the plug back in.
Yeah it`s a pain, and a real bugger to do without the car being on a hoist, but that`s it.. BW
