I have a JD 70 that originally had 12 or 13-38 tires. Didn't have the $$ to put on new ones and couldn't find any used so I put used 15.5-38's on it. It works, but it is not a good situation. When you get the tube in and try to get outside over the rim, inside wants to climb onto top ring of rim. Cut up small blocks of 4x2 to put between rim and tire to hold it in to center. Get the tire mounted and take the blocks out and try to get tube out from under tire to inflate. Tire is too wide, doesn't want to seat on the rim. Have filled with air and emptied several times, Plenty of tire soap, no help. Ended up putting WAY,WAY TOO MUCH air in tire, letting jack down and leaving it set for a couple of days and will finally pop out where it should be. I'm in the process of rebuilding the engine, and the tire went flat setting in the shed. When I get done, think I will buy new set of tires and use a sawzall to take the 15.5's off. Kids, DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!!! Only an idiot would do this, way too dangerous. Says a lot for me, Huh. Chris

Top that off with an old set of '36 Ford headlight shells bolted to the hood. Pretty unlikely for a car... but for a tractor, this is pretty normal. It seems that more often than not they a
